Local Wild Orchids
Purpose
The purpose of this facility is to encourage members to get out, see local orchids in the wild, and to have a shared space to post their pictures, provide a record of both sites and dates, and importantly, give a space for recording their observations and comments. The aim is to develop an ever ‘growing’ source of useful, straightforward information concerning our local orchids.
The secondary purpose is to encourage our members to go out, not just in the summer months, to search for orchids, but also to instigate searches throughout the year. Who knew that it can be easier, unless it has snowed, to find new sites for bee orchids in the winter months! So let’s get searching and post something interesting!
